AUDIOSLAVE Singer Says Not Every Album Is A Fan Favorite

July 21, 2006

Launch Radio Networks reports: AUDIOSLAVE's new album, "Revelations", arrives on September 5, roughly 15 months after the release of the band's second effort, 2005's "Out of Exile". That's quicker than usual by modern standards, but lead singer Chris Cornell told Launch that fans don't necessarily have to love every album the band puts out. "There was a time when being a rock band meant that, or being a fan of a rock band, meant that they might make a record that isn't your favorite, but it's not the end of their career, or the end of you being a fan of that band, and the next record might be completely different or it might be something that you love, that you would never expect," he said.

The first single from "Revelations", called "Original Fire", is at radio stations now and also available for streaming at the band's official web site.

AUDIOSLAVE has yet to announce touring plans in support of the new CD.

Cornell recently told AOL Music that he's also writing songs for his second solo album and hopes to record it later this summer.
